One must determine the functionality of the space, making design purpose-driven. Beautifully designed interiors that are warm and inviting have a positive effect on us.  Therefore, there’s nothing I enjoy more than collaborating with clients to bring their dreams to reality.  An interior that reflects the client’s interest and personality is my main focus in order to assist the client in realizing his/her vision for the home.

Living overseas in Bulgaria for six years training nationals in leadership skills was an inspiring model for working with people.  Such a diverse culture taught me to listen and observe, as well as appreciate the tastes and points of view of others.  This has served me greatly as I seek to bring my client’s dreams and desires to life.  The influence of my travels around Europe and Asia continues to inspire a global design sensibility.

I am degreed in interior design, receiving the Design Merit Award as part of a design concept competition.  The affiliation with ASID as an Allied Member requires constant education in interior design, as well as learning about new products and technology.

Donating my time to charities is important and continues to involve me in such projects as the Touched by Cancer Show House and the ASID Spring Spruce Up, which helps those affected with cystic fibrosis.

Spaces that are unique and speak directly to the homeowner pique my creativity! The home one resides in should be an expression of his or her personality, as well as a source of inspiration.

Degrees in both Anthropology and Interior Design have helped me to develop a holistic outlook when creating a space for my client. Design has been the perfect fit for me to blend my interests in things historical and cultural, as well as the opportunity to create something that is both aesthetically pleasing and beneficial to individuals. One of my favorite aspects of design work is the hunt, the search and exploration that is involved in putting a fresh space together with the client's background and desires. Color—and its effect on people and their environment—is also a love of mine.

My background includes studying sustainable products for home design and would like to incorporate that awareness into projects for my clients. I’m also knowledgeable in space planning, specification and presentation techniques, as well as familiarity with styles of decorative arts from antiquity to the present.
