WHAT CAN AN EXPERIENCED INTERIOR DESIGNER DO FOR YOU?
It’s not enough to love a designer’s work; you have to feel confident and relaxed in the designer’s presence. In this very personal relationship, you’ll be revealing your dreams. A qualified interior designer will get to know you, the Client, in order to objectively discern your lifestyle, personal tastes, and how your expectations will be reflected through a budget.
An experienced interior designer has the ability to implement the Principles
of Design, provide resources, and is trained to execute the following
services for any size project:
BUDGET STUDY/COST ESTIMATES
Based on the scope of the project, she will use her extensive resources to obtain preliminary estimates in order to give you a budget review.
COORDINATES DESIGN TEAM
It is very advantageous to have your interior designer included in the initial design plans. This gives her the opportunity to consult and team-work with the architect, builder and/or contractors to schedule time-line decisions. This early process helps in reviewing plans to prepare sketches of proposed architectural changes, layouts, and/or specifically designed cabinetry or other items (i.e. plumbing, hardware, and lighting).
FLOOR PLANS/FURNITURE LAYOUT
Considering important space allocations, the experienced designer will prepare floor plans with recommended furniture placement.
COLOR SCHEME & SELECTION OF FINISHES
After you have revealed your dreams and desires, she can select and present a color scheme including paint samples, fabric swatches and wood samples; prepare paint and finish schedules with samples for cabinets, floors, countertops, backsplash, walls and ceilings.
SELECTION OF FURNITURE, FURNISHINGS, FABRICS AND ACCESSORIES
The experienced designer has many resources and will recommend a selection of furnishings for your home, including assisting you in the many choices of appliances.
FINAL PROPOSAL OF COST
After sitting down with you and making decisions, she will then prepare a written cost proposal for your signature and deposit, and execute your personal design plan.
WORK PERFORMED/INSTALLATION
In order to make sure your design plan and dreams are completed, your experienced designer will oversee the implementation of details until completion of the project. This can include but not be limited to both on and off-site contractors (i.e. labor, cabinetry, painting and wallpaper, flooring, draperies and upholstery).
